A document can change appearance when it moves to another computer. When preparing drawings with the CorelDRAW tools in CorelDRAW Technical Suite 2026, include font handling in the handover plan.
Check the intended use
Ask whether the recipient needs to edit the text or only view and print the result. Those are different requirements. Corel’s documentation explains that font embedding is subject to the font’s permissions, which can allow editing, restrict use to preview and printing or prohibit embedding.
Do not assume that owning a font permits sending its installation file to everyone working on a project. Check the relevant font licence and use an authorised handover method.
Review the document before delivery
- Identify the fonts used in the drawing.
- Check whether the recipient already has the appropriate licences and fonts.
- Review embedding options and any warning about restricted fonts.
- Prepare the editable file or agreed output format.
- Open a copy on the receiving setup and inspect line breaks, spacing and special characters.
Keep an editable source
If you use a delivery method that changes text into non-editable artwork, retain a properly organised editable original. That avoids rebuilding ordinary text changes from a delivery-only file later.
A useful test page includes the smallest text, the longest heading and any unusual symbols. Those details often reveal a substitution or missing-character problem that is not obvious from the main title.
Record the fonts and output expectations in the project notes. Clear ownership of that information makes the next revision easier, especially when a different colleague prepares the final files.
