Presenter View can help you follow your notes while your audience sees the slides. Before presenting from PowerPoint in Office LTSC 2024, test the display arrangement you will actually use.
Choose the right screen
Microsoft describes Presenter View as showing the current slide, the next slide and speaker notes. You enable it from the Slide Show tab and choose the monitor used for the presenter display. The useful result is a clear separation between what you need to see and what the audience should see.
Do not assume the setup from your desk will match the meeting room. An adapter, a projector or a conferencing application’s sharing mode can change which screen is being shown.
Run a short rehearsal
- Connect the actual display or open the intended meeting application.
- Start the slide show and confirm which view appears on each screen.
- Read the speaker notes from a normal presenting position.
- Play a slide containing audio or video and check the output device.
- Advance, go back and finish the presentation without exposing an unintended window.
Make notes usable under pressure
Write prompts rather than a second copy of the slide. A short cue such as “explain the change since last quarter” is easier to find than a dense paragraph. Put essential numbers near the beginning of the note and separate optional details.
For an important presentation, keep a clearly named final deck and a simple fallback version appropriate to the venue. Rehearse opening the correct file. A polished deck is only part of the experience; a predictable start and readable notes make the delivery calmer.
